Goodenough, Joseph P.

A one-time resident of Ludlow and circuit court judge. Goodenough spent much of his formative years in Ludlow. For some time, he lived in the Bentley House at the northwest corner of Elm and Butler Streets. As a young man his family moved to West Covington.

Goodenough was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kenton County Bar Association, the Kenton County Democratic Club, the Park Hills Civic Association, the Fort Wright Civic Association, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks and Eagles, the Sunday Morning Club, the White Oak Social Club and the Standard Club.

Joseph P. Goodenough died on February 17, 1958 following a long struggle with lung cancer. He was 60 years old. Goodenough was survived by his wife, Hilda Cuni Goodenough, and one son: Daniel J. Goodenough. Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright, with burial at Mother of God Cemetery. All Covington City and county offices were closed at the time of the funeral.
