Goetz, Mary Ann

A teacher in the Ludlow Public Schools for 51 years, Mary Ann Goetz was born in Kentucky in 1875. Her parents were John David Goetz and Mary Ann Aston Goetz. The family home was located at 414 Elm.

Mary Ann Goetz began teaching at Ludlow Elementary School in the 1890s. Her sisters Christina and Esther Louise also taught in the system for many years. All three sisters remained unmarried. In 1947, Mary Ann Goetz retired from her teaching position. The Ludlow Board of Education renamed the elementary school building in her honor at this time. The Goetz family maintained membership at the Wesley Methodist Church. Burial was at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
